Rev. Gene Beverly
Gene is a native of Georgia, but has called Virginia his home for the past fifty-one years. He was graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia in l960. From there he studied at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest, NC receiving the Master of Divinity degree. He served as pastor of two Churches, one for nearly ten years and the other for a little over thirty years. He retired in January 2004.
Appomattox has been Gene's home for twelve years. He is now our Interim Pastor. He is married to Jeannie Beverly, also a Georgia native and a graduate of Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia. They have two daughters, Joy and Noelle, both residing in Appomattox. Joy and her husband, Kevin Bagby have two children, Devin and Mikaila, Sixteen and Fourteen. Noelle is married to Gareth Phillips. Gene is grateful to be a part of what he calls " this wonderful Church family". He is available to minister to anyone with a need that he can meet. Just call!
